Safety Practices for COVID-19

We at OCA are passionate about Public Health and know it's going to take a group effort to get past COVID.

Here is what we're doing:

  • Vaccinations: Staff have been fully vaccinated to prevent transmission of COVID-19

  • 2 Step Screening: We have a screen process so only people without COVID symptoms come in the clinic

  • Sanitization of all commonly touched surfaces throughout the shift. All chairs  are sanitized in between each patient.

  • Ventilation:  Multiple HEPA air purifiers are used while the clinic is open and during our opening and closing routines. Windows will be opened when the weather allows.

  • Distancing: Recliners and treatment tables are located 6+ feet apart.

What we're asking of you:

  • Masks: Masks are required by all patients at all times. Neck gaiters, bandanas, and face shields will not be allowed as a substitute for a mask. Masks with vents will not be allowed. Medical grade masks are available for those who need one. There will be zero tolerance for people lowering masks to below the nose. Treatments end immediately when people pull masks below their noses. â€‹

  • Stay Home if you have COVID symptoms that cannot be attributed to a pre-existing condition. If you are having COVID symptoms but have been fully vaccinated, call or email us to discuss the best course of action.

COVID House Rules

In order to end this pandemic as quickly as possible, we have to follow some rules, created to limit the spread of COVID:

  • WEAR A MASK OVER NOSE AND MOUTH AT ALL TIMES - No exceptions

Please bring your own mask from home. This mask must cover your nose and face the entire time. Masks with valves are not allowed. If a valved mask is the only mask you have, you will be required to put another mask over it. Face shields are not a substitute for a mask. If you lower your mask below your nose, your treatment will end immediately. Staff wear masks during the entirety of the shift.

  • NO SYMPTOMS OF CONTAGIOUS ILLNESS

If you have symptoms related to COVID that are due to a pre-existing condition and have been fully vaccinated, call or email to discuss the best course of action.

We will screen patients before each appointment to ask for recent COVID symptoms. Do not enter our facility if you have COVID-19 symptoms. Please rest at home if you have any signs of illness, or if members of your household are sick. This includes new or worsening symptoms of:

  • cough

  • fever

  • chills

  • sore throat

  • runny nose

  • shortness of breath

  • sudden loss of taste or smell

  • new body aches.

Stay home if you have had a positive Covid-19 test in the past 14 days, or if you have been in close contact with someone who has had a positive Covid-19 test in the past 14 days. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes.

  • NO COMPANIONS

Do not bring someone with you, unless they are a medically necessary caregiver. The waiting area is currently closed to patient companions. Please ask anyone accompanying you to your appointment to wait outside.

  • PERSONAL SPACE

Maintain a minimum six-foot distance from other patients at all times.

  • KEEPING IT CLEAN

Please use hand sanitizer immediately upon entering the clinic. Hand sanitizers are available throughout the clinic. Wash hands often. Do not shake hands or engage in any unnecessary physical contact.

Clinic cleanliness is a top priority. High touch areas will be cleaned and disinfected regularly throughout the shift. Air purifiers will be run at all times during our hours of operation and windows will be kept open as weather permits. We change sheets on chairs in between each patient. Our acupuncturist is fully vaccinated from COVID to keep you and others safe.

We know it's a very challenging time for you and others. Thank you for your understanding as all these new precautions are for your safety and ours. We eagerly look forward to the day when the pandemic has passed.
